I'm here to tell you a little bit about our lemonade theme! We had such a great week and my kiddies just loved all the fun lemonade activities that we did together!
My students' favorite part? Making LEMONADE, of course!
I gotta admit... it was MY favorite part too ;)
I started off by making the sugar water the night before. I didn't want to be boiling water in my classroom!
To make this, all you have to do is boil water and stir in the sugar. This way, you avoid getting chunks of sugar at the bottom of your glass!
I told my students all about how I made this because it was important that they know how to do it, for a writing activity that followed, even though they skipped this part in the classroom.
I set up a "lemon squeezing table" and the kiddies got to work! I let them squeeze all the lemons (I bought 2 big bags) and they poured it into my sugar water.
They absolutely LOVED doing this!
I bought some super cute cups at the dollar store and some straws with little umbrellas too!
While we waited for our lemonade to cool in the fridge, we worked on our writing activity.
We discussed the steps we took to make our lemonade and wrote them down on our sequencing sheets.
We also worked on a fun craft...
and a bubble map!
Finally, we made a class book!
Every student got to make his/her own page to put in our class book.
Oh boy! What a fun week :)
Have you ever made lemonade with your class? Or maybe you made another recipe?
I'd love it if you could share it with me by leaving a comment!
