Lots Of Love For Mom And Pops!

Hi everyone,

I'm here to show you my new Mother's Day and Father's Day crafts! I'm so excited about this because I took quite some time to decide what I wanted to do. I really wanted to put away the flowers and ties this year and try something new. I'm sure my kiddies' parents are going to be pleased!

I'll be posting pictures as soon as we get them started in my classroom :)

**Leave me a comment telling me why you love your mom and/or dad and I'll pick 2 winners tomorrow!**

We Went On A Bug Hunt!

Hi everyone,

I'm here to show you what we've been up to this week. We have been learning all about bugs and my students have really gobbled up this unit!

I choose a great book on beetles for our read aloud, with the intention of showing them a type of bug that is not liked my most. My little girlies were hiding their eyes until they realized that beetles are pretty cool creatures! "Miss Valerie, have they really been living that long?" "Are they really that strong?" They were so impressed!! Hehehe

We then wrote a class story. This one turned out pretty good :)

By the time they got started on their own stories, their minds were bubbling with ideas and I could feel the excitement in the air!
Take a look at how amazing their writing is.

I gotta say, when I arrived 2 months ago I was a little worried that I could not get these little ones ready for grade two. Now, I am absolutely blown away with how much they have improved! It's amazing how much growth we see in one school year :)

Check out how amazing their crafts turned out!

We also got some new friends this week. That's right people, 2 little caterpillars are keeping us quite excited! I have been taking pictures every day to see how much they are growing. They almost doubled in size after just one day!!

The kids are so in love with their new friends! They greet them every morning as soon as they step into the classroom... it's precious :)
