Learning Our Letters With Literacy Centers!

Hi everyone,

With Back To School time right around the corner, I've been working hard to prepare my new literacy centers!

I'll be using these activities in the first weeks of school so I am VERY relieved to have them all finished and ready to go!

I made a bunch of fun activities for our letters review:
* ABC Chart (full page poster and half page for desks and notebooks)
* ABC Order Center
* Letter Matching Center: Uppercase and Lowercase
* Letter Sounds Matching: Letters and Pictures
* Read/Write The Room
* Roll And Cover Game
* Alphabet Printing Pages
* Beginning Letter Sound Puzzles

I'm sending this to the printers today! Yay!!

I'll be back tomorrow to show you my new number centers!
Here is a sneak peak ;)

Swinging Into A New Year!

Hi everyone,

Are you getting back in the groove of things yet??
I have been working hard on updating some of my store items this week and I'm here to show you the makeover that I gave my swing craftivity!

This is BY FAR the most popular craftivity in my store and I just love it! I do a lot of crafts with my students and this one was their favorite! It looked so beautiful on our wall and the kids were really proud of their creations :)

I decided to add some new writing pages to my pack!

These are the writing prompts that are now included:
Swinging Into Kindergarten
Swinging Into Grade One
Swinging Into Grade Two
Swinging Into Grade Three
Swinging Into Grade Four

This Year, I Want TO Learn About
My Goal For This Year Is
I Will Start The Year On The Right Foot

Swinging In The Spring
In The Spring
Swinging In The Summer
In The Summer
Swinging Into The Summer

I have had tons of feedback on this craft so I felt it was important to keep it CUTE and fun!

Last year, I was not teaching at the beginning of the school year (maternity leave) so I used this craft for the end of the year. I can't wait to use it during the first week of school! I love that our parents will get to admire their kids' work when they come visit us at our "Meet The Teacher" night!

You can find this craftivity in my TPT store by clicking HERE.

Alright, friends! I'm off to update another one of my packs!

A Word Wall Tip!

Hi everyone,

I have been seeing quite a bit of discussion about word walls lately... probably because we are all heading back into our classrooms to start our decorating frenzy! Some of my blogging friends have already started their school year! Wow!!

I thought I'd show you how I set up my word wall today...

I like to encourage my students to USE the word wall, not just let it sit pretty on our wall... Ha!
That being said, I decided to make it usable by adding magnets to the back of each word card. This way, when the kids need help with spelling a word, they can simply walk over to the word wall and grab the word that they need. I encourage them to take it to their seat and bring it back when they are done.

This is great for so many reasons! Not only do the kids get to bring the words to their seat and have them nice and close to copy but they also get plenty of moving time during our Writer's Workshop! I have noticed that my little "busy bodies" can write for a longer period of time with movement opportunities. My word wall has been an excellent tool in my classroom!

If you like the word wall cards that you see above, you can find them at my TPT store HERE!

How do YOU set up your word wall? I'd love to hear from you so leave me a comment if you would like to share some tips with me!
