Hi everyone,
If you follow my Facebook page, you might already have seen this...
I wrote an article for Scholar's Choice (Canada's teacher store) this month and
I thought it might interest you!
It's all about reading at home. I included tips for parents and information on integrating reading into our daily family activities.
This article also has information on choosing appropriate level books, helping a beginning reader, developing comprehension skills, and practicing fluency.
Go take a look!

I also included a PRINTABLE VERSION so feel free to print it and share it with your students' parents!
Later gators,
What a great article and awesome printables for parents! This is the question that I get asked most at parent-teacher conferences. This will be a huge help!

ReplyDeleteThis is perfect for parent conferences to give kids and parents a good start to reading in Pre K
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Wondering if you would allow me to put this on webpage for parents? I find that parents are more likely to read this on my webpage than getting this in their child's folder, which 9/10 times never makes it home!!! Thanks so much!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such great resources!
ReplyDeleteThank you I'm always looking for info to give to my parents on ways to encourage them to read to them
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I'm a 1st grade teacher too. This will go in back-to-school-night folders. Thank you so much for sharing!
